Time flies!

It's June! Time flies!

Hello June!

I know, I'm  always a bit shocked how much time has past since my last posting but this time.....oh my! It's almost 4 months ago! I couldn't believe it but unfortunately it truth.

At the moment I have a lot of different projects on my hook! I hope to finish some very soon so I can post them and start with new ones :)

Etsy shop!

Hello all!

A few weeks go I opened my own Etsy shop LoveColoursCrochet.etsy.com! It was a lot of work but I'm very proud how my shop has become!

The only small downside was that the name 'Love Colours And Crochet' was one caracter more than allowed for an Etsy shopname so I had to change it in LoveColoursCrochet.

I take great care and love in making all the items I sell and wrap them nicely. So it will make a beautiful present to give away or a wonderful gift to receive yourself!

In my shop you can find colourful baby blankets but also in modest colours and in different patterns.

Oops...

Oops...

It is almost a month ago that I posted on my blog! I can't believe it! I'm a bit ashamed.......but you know how it goes: time flies when you are having fun! ;)

But I did some crocheting lately and made a new blanket. I don't know why but it has something Arabic about it....at least I think it has ;). Anyway, I'm very happy with the result!

I also made a custom made order. These are moose head trophies but ofcourse the animal-friendly (and child-friendly) ones ;)

Amazing Asia!

It's two weeks ago that I returned from my vacation. I went to Asia for six weeks and I really had a great time!

I want to share some photo's to show you how beautiful it was.

Ofcourse the journey started with my flight and a beautiful view of the sky! The clouds looked so soft and inviting....I wanted to take a nap on them :)

I was in Asia during the celebration of Buddha's birthday. There was a lantern parade. The lanterns are made of paper.

In the weeks leading to Buddha's birthday, people hang lanterns in temples and on the streets. The hanging lanterns are symbolic for offerings of light, wisdom and compassion in a world too often filled with darkness and suffering. And how beautiful this gesture is and looks!

Amazing, the contrast between an old temple and modern buildings next to each other.

After six weeks I'm finally back in town! Still busy with unpacking and getting settled so just a short notice that I'm back and will post soon some pictures!

XXL Granny Square blanket

I finally finished and photographed my latest project: the XXL Granny Square blanket! Yahoo! Doesn’t it look super retro? ;)

I thought I would finish the blanket on Wednesday but I’m always (unpleasantly) surprised how time-consuming the finishing of a project is. When I finish the last square or row, I always have to hold myself in not to yell a very loud and relieved YES!!!! Finished and almost ready to be posted!

Sigh….that would be in a perfect world where little elfs would wave their magic wands and all the tail ends will be disappeared! But no, we don’t live in that kind of world, I have to do it myself. And oh my…what a lot of work to crochet the squares together…..to weave in all the tail ends…..to make the border. It cost me (at least) an other day before I’m truly finished.

You know what they say: fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me…. I am fooled every time! Does this mean I’m a fool or am I a very optimistic person? I’m absolutely convinced the second option is the right one! ;)

Knock, knock who’s there?

It’s quite strange when you start a Blog. You write about something that’s on your mind and then you post it….for others to read. But does actually someone read your post? Is your post being read only by yourself?….or 1 person other person?…or 10 others?….or 100 others….or…well, I think you get the idea ;)

And why am I posting? Is my life more interesting then the life of many others? Is my life interesting at all or so boring that I have lots of time to post on my personal Blog? ;) This will be an unanswered equally important question as Shakespeare’s “to be or not to be….”.

Although the reason of starting a Blog is not quite certain at this point, I do know that I enjoy writing for my Blog! And I hope that in future there will be someone who enjoys reading my posts! For those who do read my post, a little sneak peak of my newest project.

Not everyone’s cup of tea

So many people, so many different tastes and preferences. Yesterday I posted a custom made order of 4 pillows. I really like these pillows but I also like my Rainbow blanket and both are so different. What do you like? What are your favorite colours?

I love bright colours and it is a joy for me to use as many different colours I can find and squeeze them in one project, but I also like to use just a few modest colours. So after a few colourful blankets, I choose just three colours for my next project. I hope to post pictures of the new project soon!

My own blog!

Wow.....I started my own blog today so this will be my very first blog post.......ever! So please be patient with me because I'm an absolute jackaroo in Blog-land and not a native English speaker or writer! And I can tell you; it wasn’t easy at all to get started! All the settings, I was totally lost and still have to figure out how many things in Blog-land works.

Anyway….my oh my, now I started my blog what to write?! Hmm, maybe I can start with introducing myself. I'm Josie from the Netherlands or Holland (you can choose which one you like best because it's both the same little country in Europe! ;)) and as the title of my blog suggest: I looooove colours and crochet!

I started crocheting almost two years ago and like most crocheters I'm totally hooked on my crochet hook! I found out that I like to make blankets and pillows very much!

My newest creation is a Rainbow Babyblanket and to be honest….I’m very pleased with the result! I can look at those colours for hours.....and a few more hours! Bright colours make me happy J
